Quade Cooper is set to make his international sevens debut for Australia in Las Vegas next week.

Cooper, who has won 58 caps for the Wallabies, is part of a 12-man squad for the tournament, which forms part of the Sevens World Series.

The fly-half trained with the Australia squad ahead of the Sydney Sevens earlier this month, a competition they went on to finish second in, losing to old rivals New Zealand in a tense final.

Coach Andy Friend said: "We're delighted to welcome Quade into the fold for Las Vegas.

"(With Cooper) having had a few training sessions with the squad earlier this month, not forgetting the sessions we'll have in the week leading up to the tournament in Las Vegas, we'll be in a much better position to utilise his skill-set.

"Likewise, Quade will have had time to understand our team structures and patterns of play."

Australia sit in fourth in the table after four rounds, behind joint-leaders New Zealand, Fiji and South Africa, as they continue their preparations for this summer's Olympic Games tournament.
