Wasps have signed scrum-half Dan Robson from Gloucester in a deal which will see the England Saxons star join the club at the end of the current season.

Robson is only 22 but has already made 74 competitive appearances since making his debut for Gloucester in 2010, scoring 24 points.

He was also part of the England U20 squad that won the 2011 Six Nations Grand Slam and reached the final of the Junior World Cup, before going on to represent the England Saxons.

Following another impressive season in 2013/14, Robson was called up to the England Senior summer training squad, ahead of the tour to New Zealand and clash with the Barbarians.

Wasps director of rugby Dai Young said: "Dan is quick around the breakdown, has a great turn of pace and a really good kicking game.

"We are already strong in the scrum-half department and, in my opinion, this season Joe Simpson has been playing some of the best rugby of his career.

“But signing a player of Dan's potential and skill level will only help to raise the standard and competition for places even further and get the best out of the squad as we look to take the club to the next level in the Aviva Premiership.”
