Yann David has been ruled out of France's opening two Six Nations games with a thigh injury.

David earned his first call-up for seven years when Guy Noves named his squad last month, but the Toulouse centre will have to wait for a first cap since 2009.

The 28-year-old's injury will keep him out of this weekend's opener against England at Twickenham and the home game against Scotland on February 12.

Noves is due to name his team for the England game on Thursday, and there is no decision yet on whether to call up a replacement.
