Wales centre Jonathan Davies requires surgery on his injured ankle and will be ruled out of action for up to six months.

The British and Irish Lion suffered the injury during the closing stages of Wales' 29-21 defeat to Australia and was helped from the Principality Stadium pitch.

The Welsh Rugby Union expect Davies to be sidelined "in the region of six months", potentially ruling him out of the 2018 Six Nations.

Harlequins centre Jamie Roberts has replaced Davies in the Wales squad ahead of Saturday's international against Georgia.
