Harlequins centre adds to growing reputation
Harelquins director of rugby Dean Richards played down the hype surrounding centre Jordan Turner-Hall following the 24-18 win against Bristol on Saturday.
Turner-Hall is the emerging talent in Quins' backline and was a constant menace in both attack and defence as his side notched their third win in four Guinness Premiership matches.
The 19-year-old capped a superb display by creating the game's decisive try for Steve So'oialo in the 64th minute.
"Overall, he did well and made some notable breaks - but I don't think he's ready for England yet," warned Richards.
"He needs to add a bit more to his game, and it will come. As you've seen with a lot of people, it can be a step back if you get involved and it's the wrong game."
Richards added: "We've got a lot of players still out - Andy Gomarsall and Nick Easter with England, Dave Strettle, Ugo Monye and Stuart Abbott all injured - and we did reasonably well considering those factors.
"We scored three tries, two of which were very nice - and while I'm disappointed, they scored I thought our defence was fairly strong.
"We're starting to play some competitive rugby against some competitive sides - which is something we weren't doing in the first eight weeks of last season."
Bristol director of rugby Richard Hill was left impressed by the contribution of Turner-Hall.
"He's one of the players we looked at specifically going into this game," said Hill.
"He's a very powerful young man, is very important to Quins and gives them a lot of 'go-forward'."
