No complaints from Tigers chief

Sale director of rugby Philippe Saint-Andre was quick to praise man-of-the-match Luke McAlister after the former All Black inspired the Sharks to a 20-14 victory over champions Leicester. Sale go fourth after the win and Saint-Andre said: "We know Luke has so much quality. He's quick, skilful and today his defence was very strong. "Luke is starting to fit into the team very well and with him and Charlie Hodgson we have two fantastic playmakers who can be very dangerous." As for his side's overall display, the Frenchman added: "It was important to beat Leicester because we since we beat them in the 2006 Guinness Premiership final, we've lost four times consecutively against them. "But this has taken us up into the top four of the Premiership and I have a feeling that we can get much better."

Turnovers

Leicester coach Marcelo Loffreda had no complaints about the result. He admitted: "We were not precise, lost many balls and had a lot of turnovers in the first half. "We weren't as concentrated as we should have been but in the second half we played much better. "But when they had to defend they did very well and they are things we have to learn." Loffreda refused to condemn fly-half Andy Goode for his inaccuracy with the boot, which effectively cost Leicester victory. "He was not so accurate but the team wasn't either," he added. "The bonus point was no consolation and the subject today was that we weren't focused enough in the first half."
