Dislocation set to sideline former Bok star
World Cup-winning fly-half Butch James is set to be sidelined for several weeks after damaging his shoulder in the 26-20 defeat to Saracens.
James was sent to hospital after suffering a suspect dislocation of his right shoulder when scoring his side's opening try.
And Bath coach Steve Meehan is expecting to be without the South African for a lengthy spell.
He said: "He is going to be out, for sure. When I was playing it was called a dislocation, but now it's a displacement.
"He's gone to hospital. It may be midweek before the injury settles down and we know the full extent, but obviously it's a blow. He's been playing very well."
Meehan saw Jonny Faamatuainu and Olly Barkley also score tries, however three missed kicks at goal ultimately proved costly for the visitors.
However, Meehan refused to blame anyone for the defeat, instead choosing to praise the home side.
Aggressive
He said: "I've never blamed kickers and I won't start now.
"We scored three tries and got the losing bonus. But the difference between the two sides was that Saracens were more direct and aggressive.
"We were far too lateral and seemed to have our troubles at the breakdown."
Saracens director of rugby Alan Gaffeny was thrilled to see his side rejoin the title race - however he has been left baffled that none of his squad have earn call-ups for the England squad.
He said: "That was an important game for us. If we had got beaten, the top three would have been nine points clear.
"We had 12 guys who started eligible to play for England, but obviously we don't come into the mix.
"I feel for the players. We want them to play as high as they can, but they don't seem to get recognised in that regard.
"If they continue to play well, hopefully they will get selected."
