Wasps' director of rugby Ian McGeechan was full of praise for his side after their 49-12 hammering of Worcester.
European champions in good mood ahead of gruelling week ahead
Wasps' director of rugby Ian McGeechan hailed an excellent team performance after seeing his side hammer Worcester 49-12.
The reigning European champions scored seven tries in recording their fifth successive Guinness Premiership win.
They now sit just three points off the top four with a game in hand and confidence is high ahead of their midweek trip to Sale, the first of three games in the space of eight days.
Fly-half Danny Cipriani led the demolition job on the Warriors with 19 points, though McGeechan believes every member of the team played their part in the resounding home win.
Strong squad
"We knew that when we had everyone back from injury we could perform - there is a really good spirit in the squad," he said.
"I think psychologically the three wins we had during the Six Nations were a massive boost for us. The players have come back into a winning squad.
"Worcester are a decent side these days with a bit of continuity so all in all I am really pleased with the rugby we played.
"We knew we had to make sure that we did what we wanted to do tactically and I thought everybody played their part."
Worcester director of rugby Mike Ruddock was full of praise for Wasps, admitting they were "the better team by far".
The result ended a four-match winning run for the Warriors, the only plus point from the afternoon being consolation tries from Matt Cox and Matt Mullen.
Better team
"We are not totally downbeat even though the loss hurts and I think our younger players learnt a lot tactically and from the professionalism and quality of the Wasps display," he said.
"In the first 10 minutes I thought we played some great rugby and we had good shape to us and good ambition but we missed a penalty and couldn't maintain it against a very good side.
"We probably tried to play a bit too much rugby and made a few errors and allowed Wasps to capitalise on them - which they do so well.
"But they deserved the win and were the better team by far."
