Quins gain revenge after losing at Franklin's Gardens

Euan Murray is a doubt for Scotland's opening game in the RBS Six Nations against Wales due to a rib injury. The prop was forced to sit out Northampton's 27-6 Guinness Premiership loss to Harlequins on Saturday due to the problem. He now faces a race against time to be fit to feature for his country against the reigning champions at Murrayfield next Sunday. "Normally ribs take a few weeks to recover. I don't know yet. He's improving but we don't know the state," Saints director of rugby Jim Mallinder said.

Few positives

As for his side's performance at the Twickenham Stoop, Mallinder struggled to find any positives to take out of the latest away defeat - Northampton are yet to register a league win on their travels this season. "The bench came on and made a bit of an impact - Brett Sharman, Courtney Lawes and Neil Best - but mentally we weren't right," he added. "We were beaten in just about every area. Quins did well slowing down our ball so we failed to get on the front foot and then we made an awful lot of mistakes in attack and defence. "It's becoming a big disappointment not managing to win any games away and on that display you won't. We didn't play well today, it's as simple as that. "We can't use the lack of the England lads (Ben Foden and Dylan Hartley) as an excuse." Opposite number Dean Richards was in much more upbeat mood having seen his Quins side cope admirably without their England trio.
Absentees
Scrum-half Danny Care, winger Ugo Monye and number eight Nick Easter were barely missed as the hosts ran out comfortable winners. The result also avenges a 23-13 suffered against Saints in the corresponding fixture at Franklin's Gardens back in December. "It was a bit of a turnaround from up there where we didn't perform,"he said. "We got the rough end in terms of scrummaging there so we knew what to target and I thought we did it well."
