But Lions centre Roberts forced off with shoulder complaint
Cardiff Blues ensured their participation in next season's Heineken Cup with a battling 20-12 victory over Magners League champions Munster.
However, the win did not come without a couple more injury scares that will have the British Lions management sweating.
Winger Leigh Halfpenny pulled out before kick-off after feeling a twinge in his hamstring and then early in the second half centre Jamie Roberts left the field with a shoulder complaint, although both men seem relatively unconcerned by their plights.
Of course that's more than can be said of Tom Shanklin who will miss the tour to South Africa after dislocating his shoulder whilst playing for Blues last Wednesday.
Cardiff dominated the early stages on Sunday but failed to turn their superiority into points with fly-half Nicky Robinson missing two kickable penalties.
But his decision to spurn a third shot at goal in favour of position did pay dividends as it set up a slick back-move which was rounded off by Tom James who scored in the corner.
Munster, a man short after flanker Nick Williams was sin-binned, were under pressure for long periods, but they countered well and scored against the run of play when number eight Denis Leamy forced his way over after Denis Hurley's break had set up a platform.
Robinson did finally slot a penalty in first-half injury-time but the three-point interval lead scarcely reflected the home side's efforts.
Following Roberts' departure Munster found more urgency and belief and only the television official denied first Leamy and then centre Barry Murphy who were both held up over the line.
However, they did finally register when right-wing Kieran Lewis touched down in the corner allowing Jeremy Manning to convert.
But Blues rallied and scored on virtually their first foray into the Munster 22 of the half, prop Gary Powell forcing his way over.
Robinson was then denied by the video official having appeared to have won the chase for a Martyn Williams kick, but replacement Ceri Sweeney made the points safe when he intercepted to score by the posts.
