Injury to number eight overshadows fine win for Quins at Sixways
Nick Easter will be assessed by England's medical staff after hobbling off during Harlequins' 26-22 win over Worcester.
The number eight lasted just over half an hour of the Guinness Premiership clash at Sixways before being forced off the field.
The sight of Easter on crutches after the game will be a major concern for England team manager Martin Johnson, who is already without a long list of players for the upcoming autumn internationals.
Quins coach John Kingston confirmed that the forward had hurt his calf on the same day that international team-mate
Julian White was ruled out of action with a hamstring injury.
Question mark
"It looks like he has a calf muscle injury," he said.
"He is on crutches and it is impossible to say how many weeks he will be off but there is obviously a question mark as to whether he will be available for the autumn internationals.
"He will report to England tomorrow and their medical staff will have to assess the injury."
Easter's injury overshadowed a fine result for Quins which came off the back of a tough Heineken Cup defeat at the hands of Toulouse seven days earlier.
"It was a very physical game and all credit to the guys, they dug deep and its never easy to win here," Kingston added.
"We are getting back on track but realistically we are not going to progress further in the Heineken Cup and our aim it to qualify for that competition next season."
Worcester coach Mike Ruddock had no complaints about the final result, admitting his side hadn't deserved much more than a losing bonus point.
Fortitude
"We are very disappointed we didn't perform the way we wanted to and they deserved the victory," he commented.
"We huffed and puffed but we weren't the better team. We showed fortitude to get a bonus point but we were not clinical enough.
"We had hoped to make Sixways a fortress but we didn't and we have got to nail these sides down."
The Warriors suffered an injury blow of their own, with Tongan prop Tevita Taumoepeau withdrawn after 19 minutes with two dislocated fingers.
