Darren Edwards was delighted to see the Dragons keep alive their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals of the LV= Cup.
Williams and Jones both play full 80 minutes for beaten Ospreys
Darren Edwards paid tribute to Jason Tovey after the fly-half broke a Dragons record in the 40-19 LV= Cup win over the Ospreys.
Fly-half Tovey kicked 25 points to break the previous best by a Dragons player of 23 - a mark he had held jointly along with Percy Montgomery.
Dragons backs coach Edwards said: "I am really pleased for Jason. We've talked about moving him to fly-half, and I thought he was outstanding."
The number 10 booted seven penalties and two conversions as the Ospreys were hammered on a day that had already seen their full-back Lee Byrne hit with a two-match ban.
The Wales international was handed the punishment for his brief appearance as a 16th player in the Heineken Cup win over Leicester, while the club were also fined 25,000 euros.
Tries from skipper Ashley Smith, winger Aled Brew and lock Adam Jones helped the Dragons keep their hopes alive of reaching the semi-finals.
Good attitude
"There is a good attitude among the players, and the spirit has been good," Edwards added.
"It was important to break the stigma of losing six games in a row, and it is about being progressive and improving."
Ospreys assistant coach Jonathan Humphreys said he was "not in a position to comment" on today's developments.
"Tonight was all about the LV= Cup against the Dragons,"
"It was very difficult for us to build momentum. We lacked a bit of control at times, and poor discipline cost us, but we felt we prepared well for the game."
Having seen Byrne ruled out of the Six Nations opener against England, Wales coach Warren Gatland received a boost with winger Shane Williams and prop Adam Jones both playing the full 80 minutes at Rodney Parade.
