Devin Toner aiming to take Ireland Rugby World Cup chance

Devin Toner is determined to take his chance after being recalled to the Ireland starting line-up for Sunday's World Cup game against Romania at Wembley.
Leinster lock Toner was an integral part of Ireland's successive Six Nations triumphs, but was dropped by boss Joe Schmidt after a disappointing display in the 21-13 defeat to England in the final warm-up match.
Ulster's Iain Henderson replaced Toner in the 50-7 opening Pool D win over Canada in Cardiff and has been backed to become a mainstay in the Ireland side after an impressive performance.
Toner has accepted his position but knows he now needs to impose himself on the Romanians.
"It's a huge opportunity for me personally and hopefully I can take it. It's absolutely massive," said Toner.
"I was obviously disappointed not to be involved last week but it just reinforces the fact that everyone has to perform in every game and you take every game in isolation.
"One hundred per cent Iain's performance last week increases the pressure. You can see the competition for places now, there's real quality throughout, and it just reinforces the strength in depth.
"Hendy's playing brilliantly well so I've really got to front up this week."
Ireland defence coach Les Kiss admits Toner needs to raise his level now in order to be in contention for the pivotal pool battles against Italy and France.
"I wouldn't say he has to counter what Hendy did, but from his own perspective he was disappointed with his performance against England," said Kiss.
"But he's a good pro, and he played 20-odd games straight for us before that. And he did play a lot of good rugby for us.
"He's certainly put his mind on the job and he's hoping to rectify several things. So we'd expect to see a bit of a change there."
