Winger omitted from 22 following Saracens switch

England wing Chris Ashton has been omitted from Northampton's match-day 22 for the Heineken Cup clash against Munster. Ashton started against Scarlets last weekend but has since pledged his future to Saracens, whom he will join at the end of the season. But having said it was 'business as usual' for Saints in the meantime, Ashton was expected to be named in Saturday's line-up despite reports of a contretemps with Saints boss Jim Mallinder in midweek. However, Jamie Elliott replaces him on the right wing and it remains to be seen how much more game time the 24-year-old will receive with Saints this term. Ashton is part of the England training squad for the Six Nations and is likely to be in the starting line-up for the opening match against Scotland in a fortnight's time.
