Wasps coach fuming after three yellow cards
Wasps coach Shaun Edwards was clearly unhappy with referee Greg Garner after his side crashed 26-15 at home to Saracens on Sunday.
Wasps had three players sin-binned during the Aviva Premiership match and Edwards struggled to hide his frustration in the aftermath.
The hosts conceded 12 points while they were below-strength after forwards Marty Veale, Tim Payne and John Hart all saw yellow.
"Obviously they were costly - but did we deserve them?" Edwards reflected.
"It will be much better for me to keep my thoughts to myself otherwise I'll get in a lot of trouble. I'll keep my silence. You saw it, you write it."
Outsmarted
However, he could offer few excuses for his side's inability to adapt to the soggy conditions at Adams Park, where Sarries' tactical kicking proved key.
"We started horrifically and in the second half we were outsmarted by the opposing half-backs," he added.
"Their kicking game was much more clinical than ours and it was pretty obvious we are a much better team in the dry.
"We showed a lack of nous in those conditions which our opponents didn't. They were very smart and intelligent with their kicking game."
Meanwhile, Saracens rugby director Mark McCall was delighted with his side's work ethic.
"Everybody worked very hard and we were well managed by our half-backs in difficult conditions," he said.
Pressure
"Penalties conceded and yellow cards conceded generally come from pressure and, with the conditions, we set out to put Wasps under pressure."
Three successive victories have seen Saracens move into second place and they put their unbeaten run on the line at league-leaders Leicester on Saturday.
"Thirteen points from those three games is everything we wanted," McCall added. "We're on a nice little run at the moment.
"Welford Road is a tough place to go but we won there last season so the boys have no fear of going there."
An added bonus for Saracens was the return of centre Adam Powell after three months out following shoulder surgery.
Powell came off the bench in the second half to make his 100th appearance for the club and McCall added: "He's had a desperate season with injuries so it was good to see him back."
