Find out who made the The Rugby Club's Sky Sports Aviva Premiership Team of the Season.
Who made our team of the season?
The Rugby Club unveiled the most prestigious prize in the Premiership with a place in our Dream Team.
Our voting panel was pretty impressive with Stuart Barnes, Dewi Morris and Will Greenwood each having a vote.
The majority vote won but if on occasion there were three separate players then Dean Ryan had the final say. So who did make the dream team? Below is the final cut:
1 SOANE TONGA'UIHA - Northampton
Dewi says:
He would be the cornerstone of any pack - quite simply he is the best loosehead around - in the tights and around the park.
2 SCHALK BRITS - Saracens
Dewi says:
He is a freak of nature and could have played any position. He chose hooker and he is just brilliant. He does his hooking duties to perfection and adds something very special in loose play. A very good player indeed.
3 BRIAN MUJATI - Northampton
Stuart says:
I think Mujati has been sensational this season. He is very much the attendant to Tonga'uiha, who is their Hamlet if you like. This guy has been taking centre stage as the season has gone on. He thrives on the fast grounds and has been terrific in the loose; however in the tight he has been absolutely sensational.
4 MOURITZ BOTHA - Saracens
Will says:
The South African lock epitomises everything that is good about what is good about Sarries. He has a tremendous workrate, is loyal and trustworthy. He listens to what the commands are, he hits people and carries the ball hard.
5 GEORGE ROBSON - Harlequins
Dewi says:
He is Harlequins 100%. He is their go-to man at the lineout and is equally adept on the wing as he is in the second row pushing. He is an honest player and that is why he is going to be in our dream team.
6 TOM JOHNSON - Exeter
Will says:
We all thought Exeter would be relegated but their pack has been immense. Johnson has been quite brilliant, he has scored some tries and made some huge hits - you would not recognise him on the street without his scrum cap on but stick an Exeter shirt on him and everybody who has played against knows a lot about him.
7 CHRIS ROBSHAW - Harlequins
Dewi says:
He is a modern day seven that uses his extra size and weight to great advantage.
8 ERNST JOUBERT - Saracens
Stuart says:
He was in our Dream Team last year and he is in again. This South African is the smartest player in the Saracens team and one of the seminal players in the Premiership. His decision making is excellent. He is a big game player and he is also hugely consistent.
9 JOE SIMPSON - Wasps
Dewi says:
In a poor Wasps team this season Simpson has been a shining light. He has basically made more metres than any other scrum half and scored more tries than any other scrum half too. I think he will be England's third choice scrum half going into the world Cup, his form has been exhilarating even when he has not got the platform to work from. He is learning all the time.
10 NICK EVANS - Harlequins
Dewi says:
If only he was English! He is intelligence personified and what we come to expect from a Kiwi ten. He is the best all round ten we have in the Premiership and is teaching all those who play with him.
11 ALESANA TUILAGI - Leicester
Dewi says:
We have gone for a bit of size as well as a bit of consistency. He can score tries for fun with 11 in the Premiership this season. His tackling is pretty ferocious and so is his finishing. Consistently he is their go-to man.
12 ELIOTA FUIMAONO- SAPOLU - Gloucester
Dewi says:
He is a magician with a huge box of tricks. He has been the catalyst in the Gloucester backs and has been an absolute pleasure to watch.
13 MANU TUILAGI- Leicester
Dewi says:
In my opinion he should be playing for England! He burst on the scene and has been brilliant for Leicester and could be brilliant for England too.
14 CHRIS ASHTON - Northampton
Dewi says:
He is not just the best finisher in the Premiership, he is the best finisher in Europe. A couple of weeks ago he showed when to pass a ball and when to finish. He is peerless now. His reading of the game is so good, he has always had a decent kicking game and people are now starting to acknowledge that. Defensively he is fully committed. He has been superb for his club and will be crucial for Northampton in the coming weeks.
15 ALEX GOODE- Saracens
Will says:
Goode is the fourth representative from Saracens - the highest representation from one team, which just goes to show their consistency. They have won more games in the Premiership than anyone else this year. Goode at fullback was brilliant; he started at fly half but then moved to fullback where he has been an absolute rock. Whereas Joe Simpson for Dewi may be the third choice scrum half for England, I think Goode might be a bolter for the second choice No.15.
