Win will give us big boost says Worcester boss
Worcester head coach Richard Hill said Friday's 16-7 victory over Bath would give everyone at the club a huge boost.
Bath were left to pick up the scraps as the Warriors dominated possession and territory for much of the 80 minutes at Sixways.
Hill expressed concern at injuries to his side during a bruising battle - prop Matt Mullan hurt his shoulder and flanker Neil Best suffered a suspected broken arm.
But despite the setbacks, the coach thought that his side's commanding display had been the Warriors' best performance of the season.
"We have now only got two fit props, so it was a bit of a costly game for us," he said. "But to get the win will give everyone a big boost.
"We asked for our best performance of the season and I think we probably did that. We didn't look jittery.
Intensity
"We went out with confidence, although we didn't get the rewards until just before half-time with Miles' try.
"We managed to close the game out, which was key. That was a big psychological thing for us - a massive step forward."
Bath boss Sir Ian McGeechan admitted his side had been 'pretty average' on a night when victory would have taken them into the play-off zone.
"We didn't have a lot of ball in the first half and that is not the best way to build pressure," he said.
"We didn't show the intensity of last Sunday (against Montpellier). We were pretty average and we have no excuses.
"Things have to be far better than they were tonight. We have to look hard at ourselves. We did not do ourselves justice."
