Teenager extends stay with Bloemfontein-based franchise

Fly-half Johan Goosen has committed his future to the Cheetahs by signing a contract extension until the end of the 2014 season. The 19-year-old has taken Super Rugby by storm this season by topping the points scoring charts with 127 points after eight rounds. Goosen was tied to the club throughout 2013 although he will now be staying for an additional 12 months, a move which has pleased his agent Jan-Harm van Wyk "He is happy at the Cheetahs and gets enough game time," Van Wyk told the Volksblad newspaper. Goosen is yet to win a full cap for South Africa, although he has been included in new Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer's 31-man training group who are attending a planning session in Pretoria.
