Hurricanes second row Blade Thomson has agreed a new two-year contract with the Wellington-based franchise.
The 23-year-old has been in superb form this season, with Thomson scoring two tries in the win over the Crusaders.
The former New Zealand Under-20s international made just one appearance in 2013, however he has gone on to become a key figure in the side this year – making a further 12 appearances.
"There's such an awesome team environment within the Hurricanes at the moment, and it's one that promotes professionalism and is pushing so hard to win a championship," Thomson told the official Hurricanes website.
"It's a set-up I want to be involved in because I know it will push me as a player and get the best out of me."
