Saracens flanker Schalk Burger has received a one-week ban for dangerously entering a ruck against Northampton last Saturday.
Burger pleaded guilty at an independent disciplinary hearing on Wednesday to having made contact with flanker David Ribbans in the 48th minute of the 62-14 Champions Cup triumph at Allianz Park.
The citing was upheld as the panel felt the offence deserved a red card and a two-week suspension was issued, reduced by one week due to the South Africa back row's admission of guilt and good disciplinary record.
Burger's ban will further test Saracens' depth with Billy Vunipola, Michael Rhodes and Jackson Wray in the treatment room.
Saracens secured a place in the quarter-finals as one of the three best runners-up, setting up a last-eight appointment with Leinster in Dublin.
