World Cup-winning coach Steve Hansen says there is no chance that he would consider taking charge of England.

Hansen is fresh from leading the Alll Blacks to World Cup glory and expects to leave his post when his contract expires after the Lions tour New Zealand in 2017.

England, meanwhile, are conducting a review into their disappointing performance at the World Cup, having become the first host nation not to advance from the pool stages.

They may find themselves looking for a new head coach and Hansen would appear to have all the credentials required for the post.

However, when asked if he would consider coaching another nation, the 56-year-old replied: "No, not after coaching the All Blacks.

"It's okay to coach another country but, now I've coached the All Blacks, I couldn't coach against them. I couldn't do it.

"If I was going to coach another international team, why would I stop coaching this one?

New Zealand's Dan Carter says winning the Rugby World Cup again is one of the most special times in his career

"If you wanted to put yourself in that situation, then just stay where you are. This is the best team for me to coach because I'm a New Zealander and I don't need to go anywhere else."

Hansen plans to stay where he is for at least the next couple of years and thinks keeping the All Blacks at the top of the game will be tougher than getting more out of an under-performing team.

"My argument would be that it is a bigger challenge to turn a champion team into a better team," Hansen explained.

"I don't want to sound like a big head there but the All Blacks have been a good team for a long time, so when I came I wanted to make them better.

"People will have their own opinions but that's what we're trying to do.

"In the next two years we want to make it a better team than it is now and that's just as big a challenge as coaching anywhere else."
