The All Blacks were with Adidas for a fan engagement experience in Southbank where we caught up with Sonny Bill Williams and Sam Whitelock

Sonny Bill Williams says Sam Burgess' future in rugby union lies in the No 6 jersey rather than the midfield.

The All Blacks' most famous rugby league convert, who has scored eight tries in 26 Tests in New Zealand's midfield, says the future of Burgess lies in the forwards.

Burgess has been played at flank and centre for Bath, though Stuart Lancaster has said he will only consider Burgess at centre for England.

Williams was full of praise for the what the former Rabbitohs player has done in rugby union, and says Burgess will get better with time.

"Massive achievement, really proud of Sam," said Williams. "He's a good man and I know that he will handle it with ease, he just needs time in the saddle."

"For me personally, after watching his games... don't get me wrong he goes really well at centre, but I think his prime position in the future will be on the side of the ruck.

"The final that he played in, I thought he played awesome. But you know I'm sure, the type of talent that he is, he will handle that midfield role with ease.

"Hopefully if we do come up against him we stay away from that shoulder of his!"

Williams was speaking to Sky Sports' James Gemmell at London Southbank, and Gemmell also caught up with Sam Whitelock, who says the All Blacks are constantly evolving as a team.

"The development over the time I've been involved has been awesome," said the second rower.

"Everyone's always looking to improve individually and also as a team. That definitely carries on from year to year."
