Warriors next face reigning champions Leinster
Glasgow assistant coach Shade Munro admitted his side had enjoyed a lucky escape in their 13-13 draw with Montpellier.
The Warriors looked set to slip to a last-gasp defeat on their travels when their opponents were awarded a penalty as time expired.
However Benoit Paillaugue was unable to hold his nerve with the pressure on, the replacement scrum-half sending the kick well wide of the uprights.
The miss means the Warriors retain some hope of progressing in the Heineken Cup, although, after failing to beat a Montpellier side without a win Munro conceded his side had missed an opportunity.
"When their kicker was coming up to take that final shot at goal to win the game we were trying to look at the replay to see who had given away the penalty," he said.
"Then we noticed he was taking his time and we wondered what was going to happen.
"He was a right-footed kicker and it was on his wrong side, but it was only on the 15 metre line. Ordinarily we would have expected him to kick it, even though we were willing him to miss.
Disappointed
"Thankfully, he lost it, missed and we got a draw. Even though that was a bit of a let off we are all disappointed not to have won.
"We started badly, but came back strongly. We felt we could have won the game, but we still think we are in the mix in terms of qualification."
Glasgow next face reigning Heineken Cup champions and runaway group leaders Leinster, who hammered Bath in the fourth round of fixtures.
Munro, though, insists his side can still make it out of Pool 3 and into the quarter-finals of Europe's premier club competition.
"If this game was supposed to be the biggest game in the history of Glasgow Warriors, then the round five fixture against Leinster is bound to be because we will have to beat the European champions to stand any chance of winning the pool," he added.
"We've already beaten them in the league this season, and have upset them at 'Fortress Firhill' in the past, so we have to believe we can do it again."
