Edinburgh's Duncan Weir facing weeks out after breaking jaw

Edinburgh fly-half Duncan Weir is facing several weeks on the sidelines after fracturing his jaw against Munster last weekend.

Weir has since undergone surgery in a hospital near Edinburgh after suffering the injury during the 28-14 defeat in the PRO12 match.

A club statement read: "Edinburgh Rugby would like to extend its thanks to the staff of St John's Hospital for their assistance."

Tighthead prop Kevin Bryce is also awaiting scan results after suffering an elbow injury in the same match.

Meanwhile, fly-half Jason Tovey - a possible replacement for Weir - and back-row Nasi Manu have recovered from wrist and rib injuries respectively and returned to training.
