Edinburgh boss delighted as Blues are joined at the top
Edinburgh head coach Michael Bradley was delighted with his side's performance after they avenged last week's defeat to Cardiff in Heineken Cup Pool Two.
Their 19-12 victory at Murrayfield puts the Scots level on points with the Blues having won three of their first four matches.
Tim Visser's first-half try and a 14-point kicking haul from Greig Laidlaw ended Cardiff's unbeaten run and Bradley paid tribute to the effort of the players after last week's 25-8 defeat in Wales.
"We did so well in the breakdown and the contest from a physical point of view. The rest of our game fell into place for large portions of the match," Bradley said.
"I think it was a much-improved performance by us on last week. Cardiff did very well last week at the breakdown and they physically dominated us.
"The boys were very, very good this week. The consistency of performance was better in terms of the quality of the work at the breakdown.
Pressure
"More players got it right and it made a huge difference to us - we were able to put a lot of pressure on Cardiff, particularly in the first half.
"After four matches we're joint top of the group. Hopefully that (the losing bonus point) won't be a key factor at the end of the pool.
"As a performance that was a very good performance. We've three wins out of four in this competition. It's not a bad start."
Blues coach Justin Burnell was frustrated with his side's performance, but relieved to claim the bonus point.
He said: "We're disappointed. We physically couldn't get into the game in the first half and when we finally did get into the game we squandered two walkover tries, just through handling errors.
"The only consolation that came out of the game was the fact we have a losing bonus point and if it does come down to the wire that helps."
