Toulouse scrum-half thinks they'll need a better performance against Leinster

Although Toulouse reached the semi-finals of the Heineken Cup with a crushing 42-16 victory against Stade Francais, scrum-half Byron Kelleher has said they will need an even better performance against Leinster. The three-times champions set up a meeting with last year's winners in the last four after Yannick Jauzion, Patricio Albacete and Cedric Heymans scored tries in an accomplished performance from the French giants. Even so, Kelleher has demanded more from his team-mates ahead of the May 1 clash, saying: "I watched Leinster play on Friday night and they are as good as anyone else. "We will not focus too much on them just yet but we know we have a few things to work on. "Seeing the level of rugby this weekend means our performance will not be sufficient to win the next game. "Leinster are a difficult team but we will enjoy the win tonight, celebrate and worry about them in the coming weeks." Stade Francais briefly threatened a shock on Sunday when skipper Rodrigo Roncero scored the first try of the match. But France centre Jauzion tipped the balance back in favour of Guy Noves' side with a try on the stroke of half-time to put them 13-10 ahead. The hosts then pulled away in the second half with David Skrela notching up an impressive 27-point tally.

Opportunities

Despite his call for improvement, Kelleher believes Toulouse will be in the right frame of mind for the semi-final. He added: "The knockout stages are all about taking your chances because they don't come around too often. You may only get one or two opportunities. "Quarter-finals and semi-finals are when your playmakers come into their own and players who can make the right decision become highly important." Meanwhile, Stade coach Jacques Delmas denied that the decision to omit James Haskell from their 23-man squad came as a result of the club v country row the England flanker became embroiled in last month. Delmas said: "We didn't pick James because we wanted a different line-out option. We wanted to attack them in that area. "The reason he wasn't on the bench was because we wanted a specialist number eight on the bench in case of injuries."
