Former Springboks fly-half to join big spenders during World Cup

Toulon have secured the services of former Springboks fly-half Andre Pretorius during the World Cup as a back-up for Jonny Wilkinson and Matt Giteau. The French Top 14 outfit confirmed the 32-year-old will arrive during the summer but did not reveal the length of his contract. Pretorius, who currently plies his trade in the Super 15 with the Lions, played 31 Tests for the Springboks. He was part of the squad that won the World Cup in 2007 before he then ended his international career that year. However, his club career has been plagued by various injuries over the past two years. The recruitment of Pretorius comes after Toulon released Wales centre Gavin Henson earlier this week, citing financial restrictions at the club and the risk of losing him for a lengthy period during the World Cup.
