Melbourne Rebels have signed Irish prop Jamie Hagan to a two-year Super Rugby contract.

Hagan, 28, made over 100 appearances for Leinster, Connacht and London Irish, and earned one Ireland cap against the United States in 2013.

Rebels coach Tony McGahan, who coached Irish side Munster from 2008 to 2012, said: "To be able to bring a front row player into the team with 100 caps at the professional level is a real positive for the improvement of the squad."

Hagan said: "Growing up in Ireland, I have always watched Super Rugby on a Saturday morning and it has always fascinated me."

The Rebels finished in third place in the Australian conference this season and missed the six-team play-offs.
