Leeds captain Andy Titterrell and fellow front-row Dave Young are the latest players to leave the RFU Championship club.
Young also departs; Carnegie announce coaching restructure
Leeds captain Andy Titterrell and fellow front-row Dave Young are the latest players to leave the RFU Championship club.
Carnegie had announced back in April that 14 players would be released after the club failed to win promotion back to the Aviva Premiership at the first attempt.
However former British and Irish Lions hooker Titterrell and Scotland A prop Young have both now decided to move on.
Titterrell initially joined Leeds on a short-term deal in November 2009 but his impact saw him offered a permanent deal.
Injury meant he was sidelined as the club were relegated, however he bounced back to skipper the side last season - and although he spent a brief spell on loan at Sale, the 31-year-old made 20 appearances.
Titterrell wrote on
Twitter: "Thanks for everyone's support over the last 3 years @carnegierugby. Especially through my injury and my time as captain. God Bless."
Vacancy
Young made the switch to Leeds last season, with the former Leicester, Gloucester and Edinburgh prop making 18 appearances.
Carnegie have also announced a restructure to their backroom staff, with rugby operations manager Chris Gibson taking over the reins as director of rugby and Mark Luffman returning to the academy coaching set-up.
Leeds are now looking to bring in a forwards coach as well as another possible addition to assist Diccon Edwards.
In a statement on the club's official site, chief executive Gary Hetherington said: "Chris Gibson has taken on more direct, day to day responsibility. Reporting directly to myself, Chris will line manage all rugby staff, enabling Diccon Edwards to focus on coaching the first team and assisting the academy development.
"Mark Luffman will no longer combine coaching the forwards with managing the academy, concentrating on the latter next season, which creates a vacancy for a new forwards coach to be appointed.
"There will be other changes on the coaching staff as we strive to achieve the right balance of experience and skills."
