Hoy and McGovern join Doncaster

Doncaster has further bolstered their squad with the signings of lock Phil Hoy and front-rower Brian McGovern. Hoy will join from the National Two South outfit Hartpury College, with the 23-year-old having previously come through the academy set-up at Northampton. The former England Students and Under-20s second row is told the club's official site: "I hope to bring a bit of experience to the side and work hard for my starting birth, it won't be easy and I will be battling it out with some very good lock forwards, but my target remains cementing a first team place." The 26-year-old McGovern teams up with the Knights after spending two seasons with Narbonne. McGoven, who has also played for Connacht and Italian Super 10 outfit Venezia, said: "This is a great opportunity to progress my rugby career, I've picked up a lot in Narbonne and improved my all-round game, but this is the biggest move I've made and I am delighted to be playing back in the UK."
