Sarries capture Puma ace

Argentina full-back Francisco Leonelli has joined Saracens on a two-year deal after the 29-year-old left the Glasgow Warriors.

Leonelli jets into Vicarage Road

Argentina full-back Francisco Leonelli has joined Saracens on a two-year deal. Leonelli, who failed to make it into the Pumas squad for the World Cup in France, has previously played for Glasgow and Edinburgh - however he failed to settle north of the border. The 29-year-old has been capped 14 times, however he managed just five appearances for the Warriors last season.

Delighted

Sarries director of rugby Alan Gaffney said: "Francisco is a player we have been keeping an eye on for some time, and we are delighted he has joined Saracens. "He adds strength and balance to the squad and is a very powerful and strong runner. He is recognised as being a full-back, but he can also play on the wing or even at outside centre. "He is an experienced international and played in the summer Tests against Ireland and Italy. He is unlucky not to be going to the World Cup."
