Reward for outstanding season
Bath winger Matt Banahan has signed a new two-year contract with the Guinness Premiership club.
The 21-year-old has made a big impact this season and is second only to Gloucester's Lesley Vainikolo in the Guinness Premiership try-scoring charts.
That is not the only similarity with the 'Volcano'. Banahan, who stands 6ft 7in and weighs 17st 4lbs is also known for his barnstorming style.
The Channel Islander started out as a lock forward with London Irish before switching to the wing on the advice of England coach Brian Ashton.
Potential
"The main reason I wanted to stay was because I really wanted to be part of an up-and-coming club," said Banahan, who has been a regular in the England Sevens squad this season.
"I want to be part of a team that is going to fulfil it's potential and I believe Bath is that club.
"I really want to help Bath lift some silverware. We have the potential to do really well and when you look at what is best for yourself, you can see that Bath is an exciting place to be at the moment."
Meanwhile, Bath scrum-half Mike Baxter, who rejoined the club from Pertemps Bees at the start of this season, has also signed a new two-year contract.
