Centre replaces winger Nitoglia in squad to play Wales
Gran Parma centre Alessio Galante has joined Italy's RBS Six Nations squad ahead of the match against Wales on February 23.
Galante replaces Ludovico Nitoglia for the trip to the Millennium Stadium after the Calvisano winger was allowed to leave the squad for personal reasons.
Nick Mallett's side have suffered two narrow defeats to Ireland and England so far and the new coach could give Galante his third cap in Cardiff.
The Azzurri have also been boosted by the return to fitness of Gloucester lock Marco Bortolami, who has recovered from an eye injury, as they go in search of their first win in the tournament.
Warren Gatland's Wales will be no pushovers though having made a perfect start to their campaign with wins over England and Scotland so far.
