Back switched to outside centre to face Wales
Canadian international DTH van der Merwe is heading to Glasgow Warriors next season, Canucks coach Kieran Crowley has revealed.
The South African-born 23-year-old (first names are Daniel Tailliferre Hauman) has been named at outside centre in the Canada side to face Wales in Toronto on Saturday.
He played on the wing against Ireland in Vanvcouver last week and asked to explain that positional switch, former All Black Crowley let slip Van der Merwe's impending move.
"He's come back from a long-term (ankle) injury this year and on his form last week and with a couple of little things that we want to try I thought we would move him into our midfield," Crowley said.
"He's an accomplished player, he's going to be playing in Scotland next year for Glasgow.
"I hope I haven't given anything away there but we'll see how he comes through."
