Scotland welcome Wales to Murrayfield this weekend in the Six Nations and Alex Payne looks ahead to this fixture.

The Welsh head to Murrayfield on the back of a disappointing start, when they failed to make the most of a quick start against England at the Millennium Stadium and slumped to a 21-16 defeat.

Wales make only two changes from that starting XV as they look to avoid losing their first two Six Nations games for the first time since 2008, and they are also buoyed by an unbeaten record against the Scots under Warren Gatland.

Responsibility

Biggar said: "Confidence won't be an issue in terms of this team. It's about trying to get that win under our belt.

Scott Quinnell gives his prediction on the 6 Nations clash between Scotland and Wales

"We have got a good record at Murrayfield, and it's a case of getting a win and kick-starting our campaign.

"If we don't win on Sunday, then the Six Nations has gone for us. But it's a big year, so we have to make sure we get back on the horse, get back to winning ways and go into the World Cup with some good confidence.

"We are charged with the responsibility of going out to perform. We need to perform, and no-one has the right to be in that shirt, but we put pressure on ourselves.

"We want to be playing under pressure, we want to be testing ourselves. The last thing we want is to be comfortable in our positions and shirts, so bring it on."

Positive reaction

Wales showed similar character in 2013 when they bounced back from a tournament opening defeat by Ireland to win their next four games, the memorable victory over England at the Millennium Stadium giving them the championship.

Wales Head Coach Warren Gatland has been explaining why George North has been left out of the Wales team for the Six Nations match against Scotland at Murr

Their only changes see concussion victims George North and Samson Lee miss out, with Liam Williams replacing North on the wing and Aaron Jarvis coming in for Lee, who failed to pass strict concussion protocols, at tight-head.

"In 2013, we showed real character, and we are going to have to show that again. This squad has got that," Biggar added.

"Every time we are knocked or we are questioned, there is normally a positive reaction, and let's hope it is the same on Sunday.

"We are going to have to do it the hard way now, go away from home and win three games, which is never easy in international rugby, and we have got the champions (Ireland) at home. But that is what you play rugby for - the great challenges like that.

"The character in the squad is second to none, so we are fully in belief that we can turn things around and get back on the horse and back to winning ways.

"We spoke about the England game, and some harsh words were spoken, but some fair words as well.

"We are all big enough to take things on the chin, and it's now about looking forward to Scotland and not looking back and beating ourselves up for days on end about the England result."
