Charlotte Flair spoke to Sky Sports about the impact of the Women's Revolution and how proud she is being a role model

Charlotte Flair continues to take inspiration from her family ahead of her title defence at WrestleMania - though not perhaps from the source you might think.

The Smackdown women's champion puts her title on the line against the undefeated Asuka in New Orleans in what is being touted as one of the matches of the night.

Charlotte's father, Ric, will undoubtedly be there to cheer her on, but The Queen told Sky Sports that it is not just her dad that inspired her to forge a career for herself in sports entertainment.

While proud of the Nature Boy, she actually cites her late brother, Reid, as the driving force for her stellar career that has seen her establish herself as one of the finest female performers in WWE.

"My passion for wrestling came later in life," she explained.

"It actually didn't come from my dad, it came from my little brother Reid - he wanted to be a WWE superstar from a very young age.

"I was more interested in playing volleyball in college, but when I had the opportunity to go to what is now NXT in 2012, I thought I was going to go in there with my brother and be a part of his journey.

"It was just something I wanted to do for fun. I thought it would be exciting to live together."

Reid died in 2013, aged 25. Yet despite her loss, Charlotte credits the former WCW star with the success she now enjoys.

She added: "When my brother passed away, I found my way [through that time] through wrestling, and it became my passion, my life and my dream.

"I made a career out of something he's known and wanted to do from a very young age.

"I was always proud of my dad but it wasn't something I dreamed of until I started in the business and got to know the other Four Horsewomen.

"If it wasn't for my little brother I don't know if I would be wrestling."
