Barcelona 5-2 Real Sociedad (agg 6-2): Simple in Copa del Rey for Barca

Barcelona powered into the Copa del Rey semi-finals by completing a 6-2 aggregate victory over Real Sociedad with a 5-2 win at the Nou Camp.

Denis Suarez scored twice with Lionel Messi adding a penalty and further efforts coming from Luis Suarez and Arda Turan.

Four of Barcelona's goals came in the second half, killing off any possible fightback as Sociedad flickered with Juanmi and Willian Jose finding the net.

Denis Suarez opened the scoring after 17 minutes when he fired into the far corner after latching onto a flick from namesake Luis.

Jose went close to equalising on the night with an acrobatic volley seven minutes later but his effort flew narrowly over.

Luis Suarez had a shot blocked before Sociedad's Aritz Elustondo went close and a superb strike from Jose was well saved by Jasper Cillessen.

Sociedad were to rue their misfortune as moments later Inigo Martinez brought Neymar down in the box and Messi converted from the spot.

Juanmi pulled one back just after the hour with a neat lob from Martinez's pass but any hopes of a comeback were swiftly dashed as Messi teed up Luis Suarez for Barca's third on the night.

Jose headed home a second for Sociedad from an Elustondo cross after 73 minutes but the hosts upped the tempo in the closing stages.

Turan found the net with a left-footed strike 10 minutes from time and Messi set up a second for Denis Suarez two minutes later.

Raul Navas, Juanmi and Sergio Canales had chances as Sociedad threw caution to the wind in the closing moments but Barca's progress was already assured.
