Blackburn defender Shane Duffy is suspended for the visit of Burton after being sent off in the midweek defeat at Cardiff.

The centre-back serves a one-match ban after receiving a second yellow card in a personally disastrous game in which he also scored two own goals.

Manager Owen Coyle will hope Elliott Ward is sufficiently up to speed after a week's training following an ankle injury which has kept him out since the opening day of the season to be able to fill in.

Defender Adam Henley and midfielder Elliott Bennett (both hamstring) and Corry Evans (groin) are all still out.

Tom Flanagan is the only injury concern for Burton boss Nigel Clough.

The versatile 24-year-old is nursing a slight thigh problem following Tuesday night's historic home win over Sheffield Wednesday which earned the Brewers their first ever points in the Championship.

Clough has other players with minor bumps and bruises but nothing that will affect his team selection at Ewood Park.

The likes of Hamza Choudhury, Lee Williamson, Calum Butcher, Damien McCrory and Marcus Harness are options for Clough should he wish to make any changes.
