Carlisle expect to be without Mike Jones for the visit of Sky Bet Championship side Blackburn to Brunton Park.

Jones was forced off with a hamstring injury before half-time in Saturday's draw against Northampton and is unlikely to be risked. Manager John Sheridan is looking for his first win in charge of the Cumbrians but has already indicated he will look to rotate for the midweek encounter.

That should bring the likes of Macauley Gillesphey, Gary Miller and Sam Adewusi into contention, while recent signing Anthony Gerrard may see some action as he looks to build sharpness.

Rovers have ruled out three players ahead of the trip north. Derrick Williams has not recovered from a foot injury, Jacob Davenport (hip) is at least a fortnight away and Ben Gladwin's knee problems continue.

Gladwin has not played since November and is still awaiting his first start for the club. Chelsea loanee Kasey Palmer has been told he will start the game and Dominic Samuel is back after sitting one game out.
