Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has close to a full squad for Saturday's Premiership encounter at home to Aberdeen - a match which brings to an end the opening phase of his stewardship.

With the challenging Champions league qualifiers successfully negotiated - and a lucrative place secured at European football's top table - focus returns to domestic matters in the last game before the international break.

Only Gary Mackay-Steven is unavailable as he continues his recovery from ankle surgery.

Patrick Roberts makes it 1-0 to Celtic.

Defender Jozo Simunovic has resumed training after a knee injury but is short of match fitness, while Stefan Johansen is posed to join Fulham.

Rodgers said: "It's a very big game. It brings to an end this first phase of competition which has been incredibly busy.

Brendan Rodgers has praised Manchester City for allowing Patrick Roberts to represent Celtic in the Champions League

"We have played about 15 games already so this brings that to an end and we want to end it with a win. We love playing at home, we hope for a full house which creates a great atmosphere and we hope we can get a result."

Aberdeen have provided stiff competition both at Pittodrie and in Glasgow in recent seasons and Rodgers is expecting no different on Saturday.

He said: "They've got good players, been building over the last few years and Derek's an excellent coach.

"Derek has done well coming here, they're very well organised and will work very hard."

Aberdeen will be without Ryan Jack (knee), Peter Pawlett (groin) and Jonny Hayes (hamstring) for the trip to the East End of Glasgow.

McInnes said: "We're hoping Ryan will be out for weeks rather than months while Peter has a groin strain and Jonny is still out. Callum Morris came through the reserve game okay and is added to the squad."

McInnes acknowledges that his side will underdogs on Saturday but expects his players to be fully up for the fight.

Joe Lewis talks about Aberdeen's chances of winning the Scottish Premiership before this weekend's match against champions Celtic

He said: "Our league record at Parkhead is always mentioned but it doesn't change our approach and our recent record is reasonable.

"There's a responsibility for us to try and win every game and that will be no different this time.

"Celtic will be overwhelming favourites but it's one that our players are relishing as they should. It's a challenge, if we get it right on the day we can get the result."
