Colchester v Swindon preview

Image: Nicky Shorey: Set to make his Colchester debut

Colchester will be without suspended midfielder Alex Gibley for the visit of Swindon following his red card at Southend.

Former England full-back Nicky Shorey could be in line for his debut after being on the bench since his free transfer last month, but centre-half Alex Wynter continues to recover from a head injury suffered in the FA Cup tie against Tottenham.

On-loan West Ham forward Elliot Lee has recovered from illness and is another in contention, while midfielder Tom Lapslie has played for the Under-21s following a groin problem, so is expected back in the squad.

Striker Marvin Sordell (ankle) and Sammie Szmodics (foot) will continue their rehabilitation.

Swindon boss Luke Williams could be sweating over a potentially long term injury to midfielder Yaser Kasim, who took a blow to his knee in last weekend's draw against Gillingham.

Williams confirmed after the match that Kasim suffered a knock - he was substituted six minutes from time - though the full extent of the injury is yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, midfielder Louis Thompson, re-signed on loan from Norwich in early February, could yet have to wait for a run out, though Raphael Rossi could feature after being held back against Gillingham.
