Justin Edinburgh will make changes to the team that drew 3-3 with Oldham in Sky Bet League 1 on Saturday when Gillingham host League 2 Luton in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday.
The Gills manager remains without injured central defender Adedeji Oshilaja, who is suffering with a knee injury.
Captain Doug Loft is also rated as highly doubtful, and is unlikely to be risked, because of an Achilles problem.
Edinburgh otherwise has a fully-fit squad from which to choose, but he is expected to give first-team opportunities to some of his fringe players.
Luton manager John Still will also make changes to his team, after they won 4-1 at Hartlepool on Saturday.
Striker Craig Mackail-Smith was substituted because of a slight hamstring strain and is unlikely to be risked.
There could, however, be a start for Jack Marriott, who came off the bench to replace Mackail-Smith and inspired victory by scoring two goals.
Pelly Ruddock and Magnus Okuonghae are both expected to be declared fit in time to feature.
