Marco Silva will take charge of his first Premier League match when Hull host Bournemouth on Saturday.

Silva was appointed Hull manager last week and made a winning start as his side beat Swansea in the FA Cup last Saturday, before losing 2-0 to Manchester United in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Tuesday.

Silva has made two new signings in striker Oumar Niasse, on loan from Everton, and midfielder Evandro Goebel, on a permanent deal from Porto.

Niasse will be available to face the Cherries while Hull must wait for international clearance to see if Goebel can feature.

Bournemouth thrashed the Tigers 6-1 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, and Silva said: "My players haven’t forgotten what happened at Bournemouth, but this is the chance to change that, not revenge.

Former Hull manager Mike Phelan says his replacement Marco Silva faces a difficult job to keep the club in the Premier League

"We only play to win the game - nothing else. That is all that matters."

While Bournemouth are ninth in the Premier League, they have only won twice away from home this season. They will be looking to bounce back after losing at Sky Bet League One Millwall in the FA Cup last weekend.

Bournemouth drew 3-3 with Arsenal in their last league match

Hull haven’t lost back-to-back league games against Bournemouth since the 1989/90 season when both were in the second tier.

Artur Boruc’s next appearance will be his 100th Premier League apps. Only three Polish players have previously reached the century in the competition (all goalkeepers) – Wojciech Szczesny, Jerzy Dudek and Lukasz Fabianski.

Hull have shipped more set-piece goals (inc. pens) in 2016/17 than any other Premier League side (20).

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says he's a big admirer of Chelsea captain John Terry but he hasn't tried to sign him in this window

Paul Merson's prediction

This is the game for Hull. If they lose this one I think they are relegated. They will be so far behind by this time next month I think it will be nearly impossible to get out of it.

The fixtures they have coming up in the league are bordering on atrocious; they play Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and then Arsenal.

West Brom 3-1 Hull

I am going to back Bournemouth to win even though they had a shocker at Millwall in the FA Cup. Hull have to go for it and that plays into Bournemouth’s hands as I think they will be able to pick them off. I can’t emphasise how big a match this is for Hull though.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-2 (8/1 with Sky Bet)

Betting

Bournemouth are Sky Bet’s 6/5 favourites with Hull up against odds of 11/5 for the win and 12/5 for a draw. The Tigers also have the odds against them in the relegation market at 5/1 to stay up, while Bournemouth are 4/5 for a top-half finish. Callum Wilson heads the first goalscorer market at 5/1 with Robert Snodgrass considered the hosts’ main threat at 11/2.
