La Liga leaders Barcelona take on a Malaga side in desperate need of points when they visit La Rosaleda on Saturday evening.

Ernesto Valverde's team, who face Chelsea in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday night, travel to bottom-of-the-table Malaga holding a healthy eight-point lead at the top of the table.

Barca extended their advantage over second-placed Atletico Madrid by beating Diego Simeone's men 1-0 at the Nou Camp last Sunday night, with Lionel Messi scoring the Barca's winner with a brilliant free-kick.

However, Valverde has warned his players against complacency despite taking on a Malaga side who have collected just 13 points from 27 games so far this season.

"The teams in the bottom part of the table are the ones who pick most points in the final part of the season," Valverde said. "Malaga are at a point where they really need points and this game is another chance for them.

"Every game is important and not winning would mean a lot more pressure going into the next game."

Valverde also wants his players to concentrate on this weekend's league encounter, rather than looking ahead to their midweek clash with Chelsea.

"It's not a test ahead of Chelsea, it's a game to win to continue picking up point in the league," Valverde added.
