Motherwell v Rangers: James Tavernier misses out at Fir Park
Sunday 6 August 2017 12:49, UK
James Tavernier and Niko Kranjcar will miss Rangers' Scottish Premiership opener at Motherwell on Sunday, live on Sky Sports Football from 1pm.
The former has a foot injury while Kranjcar is struggling with a hip knock, but new recruits Bruno Alves and Graham Dorrans could make their competitive debuts in the lunchtime kick-off at Fir Park.
Danny Wilson is back after shaking off the knee injury which caused him to miss the tail-end of last season but Martyn Waghorn serves a one-game ban carried over from last term.
Meanwhile, Harry Forrester and Rob Kiernan will not be considered as they close in on their Rangers exits.
Motherwell left-back Steven Hammell faces four weeks out with a hamstring injury ahead of the new season.
Centre-back Ben Heneghan faces a late test after missing two Betfred Cup matches with a knock.
Defender Ellis Plummer could make his way into the 18-man squad after joining from Manchester City.
