Thurrock defender Kamarl Duncan scored a freakish 40-yard wind-assisted own goal.
The wind speeds in Essex reached 70mph on Tuesday night and games across the south-east were postponed - but Thurrock FC and Romford braved the conditions.
What transpired was a hard fought 1-1 draw and one of the most extraordinary own goals perhaps ever caught on camera.
"At times it was a joke and Romford's goal was something you can only describe after seeing - it was laughable," said Thurrock FC manager Mark Stimson.
