Tottenham can challenge for league title, says Graeme Souness

Graeme Souness believes Tottenham are title contenders after their performance in the 1-1 draw at Everton on Sunday.
Mauricio Pochettino's side came from a goal behind to take a point at Goodison Park and Souness feels that, provided they avoid injuries to key players, Spurs can challenge for top spot.
Speaking on Super Sunday, he said: "I think they are [title contenders], they've got lots of young, enthusiastic players, fresh legs in midfield, they can chop and change that. They've got a fabulous goalkeeper.
"Toby Alderweireld, they've got to keep him fit, he's a bit of rock at the back for them.
"The biggest thing is keeping Harry Kane fit and fresh because beyond that they haven't got anyone to come in and get the goals he can.
"We saw them three weeks ago against Newcastle and they were poor, they just ran out of ideas. But on that showing today and looking at the results over the Christmas period, they've got the bit between their teeth."
Souness' fellow Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher was less convinced by Tottenham's title credentials but stated his belief that they will make the top four.
"I think Arsenal and Man City will battle it out and Tottenham are an outside chance," said Carragher.
"I think they'll be disappointed that they dropped two points, they're six points now behind Arsenal which is a decent gap halfway through a season.
"It's more the performance today that would give me great hope if I was a Spurs fan that they'd be part of the race.
"I think they'll be in the top four, I think they've got a top manager and a top group of players. They very rarely lose - they've only lost two games - and they're solid at the back, so I'd certainly say they'll be in the top four with an outside chance of the title."
