The Sunday Supplement panel address the rumours that Chelsea are to move for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino

The Sunday Supplement panel have questioned whether Mauricio Pochettino would swap White Hart Lane for Stamford Bridge, following reports of Chelsea's interest in the Tottenham boss.

The Sunday Times suggest Chelsea have added the former Southampton head coach to their shortlist of potential managers as they continue the search for a long-term replacement for Jose Mourinho.

It claimed that Chelsea officials made contact with representatives of Pochettino at the end of last month to discuss the manager's job at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Daily Telegraph's Jeremy Wilson is sceptical as to whether Pochettino, who has led Spurs to second in the Premier League with nine games left to play, would move across London to Chelsea.

Wilson, speaking on Sunday Supplement, said: "I can understand why Chelsea would want to go for him because his record is superb in the years he's been here, but from his side, would he leave Tottenham for Chelsea?

"He's almost certainly going to be in the Champions League next season and they are further down the line with the stadium.

"We can look at Chelsea of the last 10 years and think that's an upgrade but I'm not sure in the next 10 years it necessarily is.

"Therefore I don't really see the pull for Pochettino. I don't necessarily see why Chelsea is a better fit for him than Tottenham."

The Times' Matt Dickinson would also be shocked to see Pochettino move to west London, although he would not be surprised to see Manchester United make a move for the 44-year-old.

"If you are going on trajectories, then Tottenham is upward and you can see a bright year or two ahead," he told the Supplement.

"It would be a surprise if Manchester United were not making those calls as well.

"They need a manager and he'd be on any sensible shortlist."

Oliver Holt of the Mail On Sunday also thinks Pochettino could be a target for United but insists Tottenham should do everything in their power to keep the Argentinian in north London.

"If I was Tottenham, I'd be more worried about United or a club in Spain coming back in for him," Holt said.

"Spurs have got to keep him. They're in the best place they've been in for a long time.

"The atmosphere at the club is great. They need to keep hold of him."
