Mesut Ozil says Arsenal must start working harder if they are to resurrect their bid for the Premier League title.

It has been a bad week for Arsene Wenger's side as their defence of the FA Cup was ended by Watford then they went out of the Champions League to Barcelona.

With only the league to play for now, their chances of claiming that are slim too as they lie 11 points behind leaders Leicester - albeit with a game in hand - heading into the final stages of the season.

Becoming English champions for the first time since 2004 seems unlikely but midfielder Ozil believes the only way they will have a chance is by increasing their efforts on the pitch.

The Germany international told Arsenal's official website: "We have to concentrate now and give everything on the pitch. We have to fight.

"I know the teams playing us will fight to take the points against us, so the games will be tough. We have to work harder than before."

France defender Laurent Koscielny puts Arsenal's form slump - they have lost five of their last seven games - down to a dip in morale.

The 30-year-old said: "We haven't been fighting like we did in the last six months because we lost a little confidence in ourselves.

"It is harder to win some games. We need to come back to our basics, be simple and then the confidence will come back."
