Jonathan Walters has been passed fit for the Republic of Ireland's Euro 2016 clash with Sweden on Monday after coming through a full training session on Saturday.

The versatile 32-year-old Stoke forward has given the Irish camp a major boost ahead of their Stade de France opener by recovering from an Achilles problem.

And assistant manager Roy Keane says the Republic squad are now at full strength.

Walters was mainly used as a substitute at Euro 2012 but has since established himself as a key member of the side and scored five goals in 10 qualifiers.

"Jon trained today," said Keane. "He got through the session, start to finish, and we'll obviously see over the next 24 hours if there is any sort of reaction.

"He finished the session, so I'm sure he'll be delighted, and we are too. I suppose basically everyone is available for selection, so that's great news."

Keane flew home from the 2002 World Cup finals in his playing days, in protest at the facilities on offer at the team's base on the Pacific island of Saipan, but he has no such concerns this year.

The Republic's training camp is in Versailles and Keane said: "The facilities are brilliant, they're a credit to everyone in the set-up here; the training pitch, the hotel, the location.

"It's been fantastic and so far the welcome that we have had where we are staying with the staff, the food, we're delighted.

"The Football Association of Ireland has been brilliant. If I was trying to find something that was wrong, then maybe my bed's a bit too soft!

"Other than that, it's great. We're enjoying it."
